A considerable amount of leftover bread is disposed every day. The venture is a food upcycling initiative using surplus bread to replace malted barley to brew beer. It also empowers the people of diverse race, low-income families and persons with disabilities, in particular those suffered during the COVID-19 pandemic, by offering job training and employment opportunities.

Breer will recruit persons from an underprivileged background to assist in the operation, logistics and coordination with bakeries and breweries. Training sessions will be conducted to help them understand the mission and operational flow of the project. Team building exercises, communication and public speaking workshops will also be offered to them to learn essential skills required at a workplace.
