There is a lack of unified solution which tackles telecommunication needs and at the same time offers privacy and holistic sensory experience for the visually impaired (VI) users. The adaptive features on smart phones and assistive products available in the market also limit the way the VI users experience the phone content.

To address the above challenges, the team will develop the Feelit phone case which is an assistive product with inclusive design of text-to-braille with enhanced privacy. Instead of reading text out loud, the device will enable VI users to feel the messages by scrolling through the Braille cell modules on the phone case. The product will help address the privacy issue and remove stigma to visual impairment.
